My name is Mike, but online I go by CarTarL on Discord. I’m from New York—the state, not the city—and I’m a lifelong computer guy, comfortable with everything from hardware, software, networking, websites and whatever happens in between.
I caught the treasure-hunting bug back in 2004 with A Treasure’s Trove, and I’ve been chasing clues, puzzles, and hidden treasures ever since.
In June 2026, I took the adventure to the next level, setting out to live full-time in The Treasure Van for a year while roaming the country, exploring new places, and following wherever the next clue—or unexpected detour—leads. This site is an attempt to start documenting my journey.
